An honours degree provides you with the opportunity to undertake research on a topic of interest. The degree is designed to give you the skills to demonstrate excellence in research with a clear understanding of a research question in relation to current knowledge. To graduate with an honours degree, you will undertake a research thesis within your major study discipline, together with any required coursework. The Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree can currently be taken in the following disciplines: biological sciences, chemistry, exercise science, Earth sciences, marine science, nutrition science, and environmental geosciences.

Entry requirements

  • Admission into Honours is competitive. To be considered f entry into the Bachel of Science Honours, students will:
  • have qualified f, be a graduate with a relevant pass degree from the University of Wollongong, hold an qualification from another institution
  • nmally have completed at least 24 credit points of 300-level subjects relating to the Honours discipline
  • nmally have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 70% f the 24 credit points of 300-level subjects relating to the Honours discipline
  • be aware that admission is also subject to an appropriate project being available, and acceptance by an academic supervis
  • complete a separate application fm f entry to Honours
  • be recommended by the relevant Head of School and
  • e approved by the Dean Associate Dean of the Faculty.
