Graduate Certificate in Engineering Studies
This course qualifies those who apply a body of knowledge in a range of contexts to undertake professional work and provides a pathway for further learning in engineering. If you have a bachelor degree in a non-cognate engineering field, you can apply to this course. All applications are assessed individually and the course structure is tailor-made based on the basic qualifications that you possess. If you do not have a degree but have a TAFE diploma or equivalent qualification in engineering and significant related work experience you may also considered.

Structure
Students complete 24 credit points of study. Program details vary according to the major and are determined prior to enrolment as well as in consultation with, and with the approval of, an academic adviser designated by the Director, Postgraduate Coursework Programs, UTS: Engineering. Some program majors may require students to complete prescribed subjects with or without an opportunity for electives.

Entry requirements
- To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the following criteria. Applicants must have one of the following qualifications in an engineering field not related to the specialisation the applicant is applying for in this course: Completed Australian bachelors degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent OR Completed Australian associate degree (AQF 6), or overseas equivalent with more than 75% of all subjects completed at pass level (conceded pass not included) AND A minimum of 2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant post-secondary professional experience OR Completed Australian advanced diploma (AQF 6) or diploma (AQF 5) or New Zealand technical and vocational NQF Levels 5-7, or other overseas equivalent AND A minimum of 2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant post-secondary professional experience
Study Pathways
This course creates a pathway for students from a different engineering background to explore their potential to undertake postgraduate studies in engineering. Once students complete this course successfully, individual assessment is undertaken to articulate either 12, 18 or 24 credit points towards a master's course.
