The Cowan Ability Grant targets students who have successfully completed a year of study (equivalent to 27 units). This has been identified as a time when students are often struggling with the financial cost associated with continuing their study. Applicants for the Cowan Ability Grant are required to provide a short statement (maximum 500 words) detailing how their disability impacts on ability to study and how they would use the grant to assist their studies. The grant recipient must demonstrate satisfactory academic performance and should maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.5 or above. Preference may be given to recent school leavers who have completed high school within two years of commencing their current university program.
