Graduate Certificate in STEM Education

The Graduate Certificate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Education is intended for registered/accredited teachers across Australia, or student otherwise who hold an education qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants will advance their skills, knowledge, and confidence in STEM education. Looking beyond Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, this program supports STEM ways of thinking and doing that cut across individual or integrated disciplines. Through conceptual and pedagogical frameworks, students will gain a deeper understanding of research-based principles and innovative practices to teach STEM. The program places a strong emphasis on real-world approaches and applications, ensuring graduates will be equipped to lead and specialise in STEM education. Students will improve, and learn how to promote, critical cognitive skills (spatial thinking) and approaches (design thinking) that underpin STEM achievement. This fully online course is delivered across a series of accelerated units and can be completed one six month period of focused study. This course articulates into EDM102 Master of Education with opportunity to complete the Masters course with an additional 6 months of study (12 credit points).
