Bachelor of Finance, Economics and Statistics (Honours)

The Bachelor of Finance, Economics and Statistics (Honours) is an elite four year honours degree. The degree is targeted at undergraduate students seeking a quantitative degree program that will equip them for graduate studies in Finance, Economics or Statistics and/or that will make them desirable to prestigious Government or Industry employers. The degree will fill a gap at the ANU by providing an attractive option for outstanding undergraduates who are seeking a quantitative degree program that has applications in a wide range of business areas. The degree will comprise courses from Finance, Economics and Statistics and also relevant courses from Mathematics.

The Bachelor of Finance, Economics and Statistics (Honours) is comprised of the following 192 units, of which: A maximum of 60 units may come from completion of 1000-level courses.

Entry requirements

  • Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent, and the minimum Selection Rank (from their academic qualifications, plus any adjustment factors) requirement for this program. Previous higher education studies
  • or secondary education results if completed less than one full-time equivalent year (1.0 FTE) of a degree
  • or the result from a bridging or preparatory course. Previously completed VET qualifications at AQF level 5 or higher (i.e. a Diploma or above)
  • or secondary education results if the VET qualification is not completed. ACT: Specialist Mathematics (Major/Minor) (160+)/Specialist Methods(Major/Minor) (160+), NSW: Mathematics Extension 1 (Band E3) or equivelant.
