The Bachelor of Design (Multimedia Design) offers you a broad and coherent understanding of contemporary design and its application to the creative industry. In your first year of study, you will learn design skills that range across various disciplines such as web design, traditional and digital publishing, branding, experiential design, photography and image production.Your subsequent years will train you to develop and deliver a range of digital media applications including projects for web, digital film and television production, interactive digital media and handheld mobile devices. You will also acquire industry related skills in animation, 3D modelling, digital video, audio, media and communication design for electronic media.

Structure

For the completion of the Bachelor of Design (Multimedia Design) students are required to complete a total of 23 units (300 credit points). Eight prescribed Bachelor of Design core units (100 credit points); Seven units from the Multimedia discipline major (100 credit points); Eight units of Secondary studies (100 credit points) comprising of a second major, co-major, minor/s, or electives. Component Units – Can be completed from a combination of the following: a) Minor – A structured set of 4 units or 50 credit points from a field of study which you can choose in addition to a first major; b) Electives – A standalone unit from any study area (2 units) and the WIL placement (2 units’ exemption) Work Integrated Learning Placement Unit – A compulsory unit for students to take up after you have achieved a minimum of 150 credit points or completed a minimum of 12 units of study in your degree. This unit should be taken in Year Three on either in the Summer Term or the Winter Term).
