Graduate Certificate in Computer Science
The Graduate Certificate in Computer Science is designed as a generalist course, allowing you the flexibility to choose specialist units from a variety of complementary areas including networking, cyber security, software development and data science. The aim of this course is to create more well-rounded IT professionals, by allowing them to learn more about a variety of hot topics that are complementary to one another rather than being tied to one specific domain.

Structure
To graduate with a Certificate in Computer Science you are required to complete 48 credit points of course units consisting of: 12 credit points of core units, comprising of two 6 credit points units; plus; 36 credit points of discipline option units selected from an approved list of units.

Entry requirements
- You must have one of: A recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in information technology or related discipline
- or
- A recognised bachelor degree (or higher qualification) in any discipline followed by at least three years full-time (or equivalent) professional experience in an information technology related field
- or
- A recognised diploma (or higher qualification) in information technology or related discipline followed by at least two years full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in an information technology related field
- or
- At least five years full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in an information technology field.
Study Pathways
The QUT Graduate Certificate in Computer Science is located at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Graduates will be eligible for entry into IN20 Master of Information Technology with a reduced course duration.
