Master of Fine Arts - Voice

NIDA's Master of Fine Arts (Voice) is designed to provide specialised conservatoire-based practice and pedagogy for graduates of performance or teaching practice with voice foundations, wanting to become voice, speech and text teachers. The course utilises the methods of leading voice specialists, teachers and practitioners from across the globe. The emphasis is on exploring and developing vocal potential, paying equal attention to physiological function and imaginative intention, so that fundamental work on vocal technique is coupled with applied work on text and other aspects of vocal expression. As such, a great deal of attention is paid to the relationship between voice and speech, text and language. As vocal teachers or coaches, students are supported to develop leadership capabilities within cultural, performance and academic communities. This course includes an international field trip.
