Doctor of Philosophy (Joint PhD with The University of Bayreuth)

The Doctor of Philosophy (Joint PhD with The University of Bayreuth) is a research-intensive program that allows students to develop their own research skills and knowledge. Students in this program will work with supervisors from both Monash University and University of Bayreuth to conduct research on an agreed topic. The program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders in their field. The program is open to both domestic and international students. Applicants must have a strong academic background and a research proposal that is approved by the program committee.

Entry requirements

  • A bachelors degree of at least four years in a relevant discipline, which includes a research thesis or project, with a minimum overall average grade of an honours degree equivalent to the Second Class Honours Division A or
  • A masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a research thesis or project equivalent to at least 25 percent of one year of full-time study, with a minimum overall average grade of honours equivalent to the Second Class Honours Division A or
  • A qualification, or combination of qualifications and relevant professional experience, deemed equivalent by the GRC (or delegate).
