The Master of Computer Science provides education in both the theoretical paradigms and practical skills required to design and implement computer based systems. It enable computing graduates to extend their skills in a number of areas and prepares students for either higher degree study or advanced employment in the Australian and international information technology industry and public service sectors.

Structure
To qualify for the Master of Computer Science, a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic.

Entry requirements
- Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in computer science, information technology, ICT based engineering or a closely related discipline
- or the Graduate Diploma in Computer Science.
- However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
