Master of Applied Science

Undertake research in a health related topic under the supervision of an academic staff member. Research may be supported in areas including Exercise and Sports Science, Food and Nutrition Sciences, Health and Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Occupational Science and Therapy public health, Clinical and Forensic Psychology, Public Health and Health Promotion, Health Economic and Program Evaluation, and Social Work. A Masters by Research degree is awarded for a substantial, original contribution to knowledge achieved in up to two years of full-time study (or two to four years of part-time candidature). To complete the Master of Applied Science, you must pass 8 credit points.

Entry requirements

  • To be considered for selection into this degree you are required to have completed:
  • a research project including a thesis which is equivalent to at least 25% of a years full time study at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework, with achievement of a grade for the project equivalent to a Deakin grade of 65% or equivalent
